About

“HEAD CHIEF”
WALT FRAIZER

My name is Anthony Waters, inventor and owner of POWER ROWERS brand products and programs.

I would like to honor and pay tribute to the Head Chief, and Former Head Coach of Miami Carol City High School, Walt Fraizer. Winning three state titles, several appearances in the FHSAA state finals, and 212 victories from 1983 to 2007.

I would like to share information about my years of study in Kinesiology and Sports Science and all my degrees from major universities that led to the creation of Power Rower Products and programs.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there was none of that. This was not a plan! I was not trying to create or invent anything; I was working on me! My only explanation is that I did not choose this, it chose me.

I am a former Mass Transit Bus Operator in Miami-Dade County and neighboring Broward County Florida.

My background is driving, however, in the year 1998, my professional driving career came to an end due to an accident in Broward County Florida.

Several surgeries and countless Physical Therapy appointments soon followed. For a long time, my biggest problem was my back and lower body, not so much the pain but lack of mobility

I tried many medications and different Physical Therapy programs and they all seemed limited in terms of improving Flexibility Mobility and Range of Motion.

I soon noticed that the best part of my day was preparing to go to physical therapy rather than the physical therapy itself.

It was tying my shoes! At the time I did not realize it, but in hindsight, I was elongating (stretching) back muscles improving my blood circulation and mobility.

I began interactive exercises at home. Anyone visiting me ended up on the floor stretching with whatever I could find to engage, normally a towel or belt.

Many times, our feet did not line up, or there was no way to brace to reach higher resistance levels. Other issues were hand fatigue, and no uniform and consistent movement.

I began using traditional fitness straps and handles which improved things and were better than most therapy programs I experienced, but something was still missing.

About that time, I remembered when I was in high school, fitness equipment was not as accessible in many high schools, most physical education programs relied on interactive exercises.

Sometime around junior high school, my physical education class was moved outdoors to a section of a field near a parking lot. where several classmates fooled around and used a concrete parking barrier while doing interactive exercises engaging with a towel or holding hands.

I never gave it much thought again until my physical therapy in the year 2000. I designed a footrest that worked ok for most low-impact routines, but for high-impact routines, we were all over the place.

I failed many times trying to recreate the effects of those routines by using different objects. I thought a footrest was the answer; No, a “stable footrest” was the answer!

It was not until the footrest was stable that the movement of the routines were more uniform, and consistent, and created the resistance I experienced with the stable concrete blocks.
It was then I realized that using stabilizers allows you to brace and engage your legs to create leverage, this in turn allows you to create higher levels of resistance.

This new development is significant because the fitness industry has struggled for years to create weight room resistant levels without high resistant equipment such as weight machines. After all, most high-resistant equipment is not always accessible or convenient, especially outdoors.

I couldn’t wait to share this with Coach Frazier. I showed up with my handles and straps and a busted-up wooden pole. He told a few guys to go help me set up the equipment.

After prepping the equipment and the guys for the routines, Coach Fraizer was called over to review. During the whole routine I had trouble reading him, he said absolutely nothing!

Finally, he said, take this over to Joe, tell him I sent you. Joe was coach Joe Zaccheo. I said so what do you think, is everything ok?

Do you like it? He replied, if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have told you to see Joe. Touchdown!! I got by Coach Fraizer!

If I can accredit any one moment in time during development, that gave me the motivation to move forward it was at that moment that gave me the motivation to keep going.

Coach Fraser and Coach Zaccheo got more involved. gave me letters of support and invited me to the annual coaches meeting, sad to say it never happened.

After the retirement of Coach Frazier and Coach Zaccheo, and limited or no access to resources, schools, organizations, and other contacts due to homeland security issues. I could go no further.

Coach Fraizer and Coach Zaccheo never hesitated to support me at very critical times during the development of Power Rower’s fitness products and programs, and for that, I am forever grateful.

I would be honored to dedicate the first interactive training facility in the name of Coach Walt Fraizer at Carol City High school and a park named after Coach Walt Fraizer.

Fast forward to the year January 2023. Back by demand.

After the peak of COVID in the year 2022, people began asking about the equipment and said they wished they had one during COVID because all the gyms were closed.
I thought I’d rather kiss the sun than talk about this again. It took almost another year to decide on moving forward.

In the spring of 2023, I decided to dust off the equipment. and began consulting fitness organizations and fitness professionals, the response was better than I expected so I decided, It’s now or never!

After consulting with several of the top fitness organizations. Power Rowers is poised to launch its interactive fitness and Wellness training programs and products in 2024.

I am seeking to create a new classification for CERTIFIED INTERACTIVE PERSONAL TRAINING (CIPT) and create a new workforce of Certified Interactive Fitness Professionals.

This distinction is important to inform the public of what to expect. Only Certified Interactive Fitness Professionals are equipped with POWER ROWER FITNESS brand products. CIPTs are more effective, efficient, and productive.
